Opening of Accounts and Delivery of Cards to Participants of Tekoporã in Paraguay

Within the framework of the month of financial education in Paraguay, Fundación Capital has accompanied an event in the district of Yuty, in the Paraguayan department of Caazapá, with the purpose of opening savings accounts and delivering debit cards.
This event took place during days 26th and 27th of March,and it was attended by participants and families of the Tekoporã project, the team of the Social Action Secretariat (SAS), staff of the National Development Bank (BNF), and various authorities, such as the Minister of the SAS, Héctor Cárdenas, the Municipal Mayor of Yuty, Ever Vera, the Governor of the Department of Itapúa, Celia Morel, and the members of the Citizen Participation Table.
During the conference, basic accounts were set up for each program holder by the BNF. Besides, each participant received their debit card. Fundación Capital accompanied the events by training families on how to use ATMs, how to make purchases in stores, and how to take care of the card and the security key or pin. Financial education materials were also delivered to the families receiving the conditional cash transfer and to SAS personnel.
In total, 741 participants of the Tekoporã Program received their cards. These families receive, on average, the sum of Gs. 620,000 (around USD 113) every 2 months. Fundación Capital has been supporting the SAS since 2013, through the Kakuaa component of the Tekoporã Program. This component seeks to strengthen the financial inclusion of families participating in the program with a strong focus on financial education.

Apertura de cuentas y entrega de tarjetas a participantes de Tekoporã en Paraguay
En el marco del mes de la educación financiera en Paraguay, Fundación Capital ha acompañado un destacado evento de apertura de cuentas y entrega de tarjetas de débito en el distrito de Yuty, del departamento paraguayo de Caazapá, que tuvo lugar durante los días 26 y 27 de marzo. El evento ha contado con la presencia de participantes y familias del proyecto Tekoporã, el equipo de la Secretaría de Acción Social (SAS), personal del Banco Nacional de Fomento (BNF) y diversas autoridades, como el Ministro de la SAS, Héctor Cárdenas, el Intendente Municipal de Yuty, Ever Vera, la Gobernadora del Departamento de Itapúa, Celia Morel, y los miembros de la Mesa de Participación Ciudadana.
En las jornadas se habilitaron cuentas básicas para cada titular del programa, por parte del BNF. Además, cada participante recibió su tarjeta de débito personal. Fundación Capital acompañó los eventos capacitando a las familias sobre cómo usar cajeros automáticos, cómo realizar compras en comercios y cómo cuidar la tarjeta y la clave o pin de seguridad. Se entregaron también materiales de educación financiera a las familias receptoras de la transferencia monetaria condicionada y al personal de la SAS.
En total se entregaron tarjetas a 741 participantes del Programa Tekoporã en situación de extrema pobreza, que anteriormente no contaban con una cuenta básica habilitada para el cobro de su transferencia. Estas familias reciben, en promedio, la suma de Gs. 620.000 (alrededor de USD 113) cada 2 meses. Fundación Capital viene apoyando a la SAS desde el año 2013, a través del componente Kakuaa del Programa Tekoporã. Este componente busca fortalecer la inclusión financiera de las familias participantes del programa con un enfoque fuertemente centrado en educación financiera.
